Executive Command Centre
A portfolio-scale executive command centre concept bringing project health, department performance, people visibility and organizational structure into one decision-support interface.
Portfolio demonstration using anonymized, representative data. The embedded dashboard uses client-side RBAC for illustration only.
01 · Context
The business problem
Leadership needed a consolidated view of operational health across projects, departments, people and organizational structure. The design challenge was not simply to build another dashboard, but to make the same operational information useful at different levels of responsibility.

Authorization / RBAC
Executive interface
The portfolio artifact is implemented as self-contained HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Its RBAC behavior is intentionally a UI demonstration: the sample data and credentials are embedded in the client, so it is not presented as a secure production authorization layer.
04 · RBAC
Role-scoped experience
| Role | Visibility |
|---|---|
| Managing Director | Company-wide departments and organizational visibility |
| HOD | Department-scoped operational visibility |
05 · Demo access
Try the role-based experience
These fixed credentials are intentionally public and provide access only to anonymized sample data. They are demonstration credentials, not production secrets.
| Role | Username | Password | Access scope |

06 · Architecture decisions
Decisions that shape the solution
Decision
Role scope is part of the user experience
Different responsibilities need different visibility, navigation and drill-down paths.
Decision
Keep the portfolio artifact self-contained
A standalone artifact makes the demonstration easy to inspect without requiring source-system credentials.
Decision
Document production boundaries separately
The demo can illustrate behavior while the case study makes the required server-side authorization model explicit.
07 · Production considerations
What would change in production?
For an internet-facing implementation, authorization should move to the server boundary: authentication → role / department policy → authorized backend/API → source systems. The browser should receive only the data the signed-in user is permitted to access. Credentials, source-system tokens and authorization decisions should not be embedded in the client bundle.
